Periodization Review
Periodization is planning for each athlete to maximize their potential within a calendar year.
The full year plan is called The Annual Plan.
Periodization is planning all training & competitions in PERIODS OF TIME- BLOCKS or PHASES.
The 3 Phases of The Annual Plan:
- PREPARATION
- COMPETITION
- TRANSITION

- Age
- Physical & Emotional Development
- Balance of Non-sport life: work/study/family
- Involve the Athlete &/or Parents
- Meeting Individual Needs in a Group Context
- Understanding All Demands of Kickboxing: Physical, Psychological, Technical &
- Decision Making.
